TURNAH VISITS WIKE IN ABUJA, BRIEFS HIM ON PDP SOUTH-SOUTH AFFAIRS


Abuja — The Zonal Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), South-South, and Acting Chairman of the PDP in Bayelsa State, Hon. Barr. Alabh George Turnah, MON, has paid a private visit to former Governor of Rivers State and current Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), His Excellency Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, CON, at his Abuja residence.


Turnah noted that it was a delight to see the former Rivers Governor in great spirit and perfect health. He disclosed that the meeting afforded him the opportunity to brief Wike on the state of affairs of the PDP in the South-South geopolitical zone.


According to him, the discussions centered on the commitment of the Dan Orbih-led South-South Zonal Working Committee of the PDP to rebuild and reposition the Party for greater strength and unity. He said Wike commended the Committee’s efforts so far and assured of his continuous support in consolidating the fortunes of the PDP in the region and across the country.


Turnah further noted that beyond political discussions, the visit was also personal, as Wike used the medium to extend his condolences to him, his wife, and the larger Angaye family of Okoloba/Sabagreia community in Kolokuma/Opokuma Local Government Area of Bayelsa State, over the recent passing of his father-in-law, Late Pastor Bibo Angaye.


“I remain grateful to His Excellency for his exceptional leadership, care, and love towards me and my household,” Turnah stated.


The PDP chieftain who is the leader of the N.E.W Associates political structure in Bayelsa State also reaffirmed his own loyalty and commitment to continue working in the overall interest of the Party, while stressing the importance of collective effort in advancing the ideals of democracy and good governance.


The visit reaffirms the cordial relationship between both leaders and highlights ongoing efforts by stakeholders to strengthen the PDP ahead of future political engagements in the South-South and beyond.
