As Nigeria marks her 65th Independence Day Anniversary and Bayelsa State celebrates 29 years of creation, the Zonal Secretary of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), South-South, and Acting Chairman of the PDP in Bayelsa State, Hon. Barr. Alabh George Turnah, MON, has extended heartfelt felicitations to Nigerians and the good people of Bayelsa State on these historic milestones.
In a statement signed by Kelvin Loveday-Egbo his Media Assistant, Hon. Turnah described both anniversaries as moments of sober reflection, thanksgiving, and renewed commitment to the ideals of unity, peace, and progress.
He noted that despite daunting challenges, the resilience of Nigerians and Bayelsans alike has continued to inspire hope in the possibility of building a nation and state that works for all.
“As we celebrate Nigeria at 65 and Bayelsa at 29, let us remember that the greatness of our country and state lies in our collective resolve to remain patriotic, uphold justice, and promote values that bind us together as one people. True independence is not merely in the years counted, but in the quality of leadership we provide and the sacrifices we make as citizens.”
Hon. Turnah further charged leaders at all levels to rise above personal interests and embrace visionary leadership that prioritizes inclusivity, accountability, and the welfare of the people.
He equally urged citizens to continue to demonstrate loyalty to the nation, support democratic institutions, and contribute meaningfully in their various spheres.
He prayed for God’s blessings upon Nigeria and Bayelsa, expressing optimism that the future holds greater opportunities for growth, stability, and shared prosperity if all stakeholders remain united in purpose.
