GGM Establishes First APC Constituency Office in Bayelsa, Re-echoes Call for Ogbuku to Contest Bayelsa 2027 Governorship Seat

Elebele, Bayelsa State – The Grassroots Galvanization Movement (GGM), a socio-political organization committed to strengthening grassroots political engagement, has taken a major step in its mission to complement the activities of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Bayelsa State ahead of the 2027 general elections by establishing its first constituency office.

The office, located in Elebele Town, Ogbia Constituency Three, is the first of its kind in Bayelsa’s political journey. According to the group, the move reaffirms its resolve to deepen APC’s presence in all 24 constituencies of the state and create a strong grassroots network capable of securing electoral victory in 2027 and beyond.

Speaking on the development, the Director-General of the GGM, Hon. Ebisele Azibalua Oyabara, described the constituency office as a “strategic launchpad” for political mobilization and party-building activities across Bayelsa.

“This initiative is part of our mission to strengthen the APC in Bayelsa State by creating permanent structures at the grassroots. Politics is local, and for the APC to succeed in 2027, it must have a strong base in every community. The establishment of this office in Ogbia Constituency Three is the beginning of a wider effort to replicate such structures across all 24 constituencies,” Oyabara said.

The GGM leader explained that the constituency offices will serve as hubs for community engagement, political sensitization, and party coordination, noting that they will also provide platforms for local leaders and members to interface directly with the party’s mission and vision for Bayelsa State.

Hon. Oyabara also reiterated the group’s earlier call on the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), High Chief Dr. Samuel Ogbuku, to contest the Bayelsa governorship election in 2027.

He emphasized that Dr. Ogbuku’s leadership at the NDDC has proven his ability to drive people-oriented development and that Bayelsa stands to gain significantly if he is given the opportunity to govern the state.

“We have no doubt that Dr. Samuel Ogbuku is divinely positioned to lead Bayelsa into its promised land. His vision, his record of performance, and his people-centered approach are the qualities Bayelsa needs at this time. We in the GGM are ready to deploy all our manpower, structures, and strategic capacity to woo greater grassroots support for him,” the GGM boss stated.

Hon. Oyabara further appealed to political stakeholders across Bayelsa’s three senatorial districts to put aside partisan differences and align with the vision of building a prosperous Bayelsa under tested and visionary leadership.

“This is bigger than party politics. It is about the future of Bayelsa and the destiny of our people. We call on stakeholders, traditional institutions, civil society, and leaders across party lines to join hands with us as we prepare for a new political season. Together, we can chart a course for a better Bayelsa,” he added.

The establishment of the first constituency office in Elebele marks the beginning of GGM’s broader plan to set up APC constituency offices in all 24 constituencies, organize sensitization campaigns, and mobilize grassroots participation in the democratic process.

Political analysts note that this move positions GGM as a formidable grassroots mobilization platform and a rallying point for stakeholders seeking to strengthen the APC’s chances in the state.

The group reaffirmed its commitment to building a stronger political base for the APC while promoting visionary leadership and good governance in Bayelsa State.
