Lt. Gen. Oluyede Commissions Projects at 16 Brigade Barracks, Commends Leadership

Yenagoa, Bayelsa - The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede, has lauded the Commander of 16 Brigade Nigerian Army, Brigadier General Oluremi Obolo, for his exemplary leadership and commitment to duty.
Lt. Gen. Oluyede gave the commendation on Monday during a one-day official visit to Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, where he commissioned several projects at the Brigade headquarters.
Accompanied by senior officers from the Army Headquarters and the General Officer Commanding 6 Division, Major General Emmanuel Ejim-Emekah, the Army Chief inaugurated key facilities including the newly completed 16 Brigade Headquarters Annex, the Garrison Commander’s residence, and an electrification project sponsored by the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC).
Speaking during the event, Lt. Gen. Oluyede expressed satisfaction with the quality and scope of projects executed under Brig. Gen. Obolo’s watch, noting that they reflect a deep sense of responsibility and dedication to the welfare of personnel.
He further commended the Bayelsa State Government and the NDDC for their collaborative support to the Brigade, describing their contributions as vital to the operational efficiency of the Nigerian Army in the region.
“These projects are not just structures, but a demonstration of commitment to improving the living and working environment of our soldiers. I commend the Brigade Commander for his vision and the supporting agencies for their partnership,” the COAS said.
The visit underscores the Army’s continued efforts to strengthen infrastructure and boost morales across its formations nationwide.
