Turnah Lauds Master Benedict for Scoring 310 in 2025 UTME, Pledges Support for Brilliant Students

Yenagoa — The Acting Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Bayelsa State, Barr. Alabh George Turnah, MON, has applauded Master Wari-Sylva Wasara Benedict for posting an impressive aggregate score of 310 in the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

Details released by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) show Benedict earned 60 in English, 98 in Mathematics, 70 in Physics, and 82 in Chemistry, results that place him among the nation’s top performers in a year when more than 75 percent of candidates scored below 200.

Turnah, in a statement signed by his Media Assistant, Kelvin Loveday-Egbo, noted that Benedict's stellar achievement is a lodestar of excellence and resilience. “You have demonstrated that discipline, diligence, and unshakable faith in one’s abilities yield remarkable outcomes, even in the face of daunting statistics.”

Turnah noted that Benedict’s success not only honours his parents (Associate Professor Waribugo Sylva and family), but also “ignites hope among thousands of Bayelsan youths who aspire to academic distinction and wish to contribute meaningfully to the development of our state.”

Reaffirming the party’s commitment to youth empowerment, the PDP helmsman pledged continued advocacy for policies that identify, nurture, and reward scholastic excellence. “Talents like Benedict’s deserve every support to flourish in higher education and beyond,” he stressed.

Turnah charged other students across Bayelsa to emulate Benedict’s work ethic and to view his feat as proof that “brilliance matched with perseverance remains a sure path to greatness.”
