Jonathan Commends Dickson’s Advocacy for the Common Man at Pa Edwin Clark’s Funeral

Former President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Federal Republic of Nigeria, Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, has lauded Senator Seriake Dickson for his continued advocacy for the common people on the floor of the Senate.


Dr. Jonathan gave the commendation while speaking at the funeral service of late elder statesman, Pa Edwin Clark, held in Kiagbodo, Delta State.


The former president who is now a very respected global peace ambassador expressed delight at the bold and consistent voice of Senator Dickson in national affairs, stating that it warms his heart to see a Bayelsan making such impactful contributions at the national level.


He urged the former Bayelsa Governor to keep the flag flying.

On his part, Senator Seriake Dickson, who joined other prominent leaders from across the country to pay their final respects, described the late Pa Edwin Clark as a man who lived a life of honour, courage, and unwavering service to the people.


“Pa Clark’s entire long life was devoted to the service of the people. Though he has now gone to take his well-deserved rest in the Lord, the struggle continues.”


The Bayelsa West Senator prayed for the peaceful repose of Pa Clark’s soul and asked God to grant his family, the Ijaw Nation, the Niger Delta, and the nation at large the strength to bear the loss of the iconic figure.
